I am a child with a sparkler
Waved with such flair
While cannons burst rainbows
High in the air
–
The night smells of sulfur
Hot dogs and grills
The warm summer’s eve
Gives the highest of thrills
–
Our moms all sit laughing
The dads drink their beer
The kids all play games
Round this family affair
–
The Red, White and Blue
And warm apple pie
God Bless, we are free
On this Fourth of July
