Gimme Five with Singer/Songwriter Chris Pierce

Gimme Five

GIMMEFIVE celebrates the independent artist.  Each week our guest will answer five questions and be the subject of a YOU HAIKU.  Our spotlight will give you an inside look into the mind of an artist.  Be sure to check out their work, and tell them Greg sent you…

A little background on me and Chris.  We go way back.  Twenty years.  Longer.  He’s been an old soul as long as I’ve known him.  His music will blow you away.  When I decided to do an artist spotlight, Chris was my first choice.  Read more here

Until then…GimmeFive!

What inspired your latest project?

“My latest album called “I Can Hear You” represents an internal renewal.  A rebirth.  A beautiful opportunity to celebrate, to love, to apologize, to escape, to search, to educate, to cry, to cope, to laugh, to shout, to defend, to honor, to encourage, to bleed and to heal through the music.  I offer this album to the strugglers in life.  The invisible people.  To those who make light out of the darkest of times even when it seems like no one is listening.”

Why did you become an artist?

“I don’t feel like I had a choice in the matter.  Expressing myself musically has always been the most honest way I feel that I can express myself.”

Who is your favorite fictional character and why?

“The Giving Tree is my favorite fictional character simply because Giving Tree demonstrates unconditional love.”

If you were a spy, what would your codename be?

“Tall Tree.”

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

“I’d love to give anthropology a go!”
